UW Sheboygan
The University of Wisconsin Sheboygan is one of the 13 campuses which comprise the UW Colleges. UW Colleges, in turn, are one of 15 institutions within the UW System. The System also includes 11 comprehensive universities granting bachelors and masters degrees; two doctoral universities granting bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees; and UW-Extension.
Location
UW Sheboygan is a perfect setting in which to dream - to envision and explore heights to which your future can take you. UWS is located on a 70-acre hilltop setting overlooking the western edge of Sheboygan. The campus is enclosed by a meandering river valley, bluffs and ravines, and wooded areas populated with wildlife. Deer leisurely cross the lawns and graze outside the library windows. Woodchucks and geese pause like sentinels to watch students and faculty drive up the scenic winding road to the campus.
Enrollment
Over half of the students attending UW Sheboygan graduated in the top half of their high school class. Our student body is comprised of a mix of traditional students (ages 18-21) and non-traditional (ages 22 and up) and returning adults seeking their degrees later in life. Our courses can get you started on more than 200 academic majors as you complete your associate’s degree. We also offer bachelor’s degrees in several in-demand careers, including nursing, communication, information resources, industrial management and more! A master’s degree in Education is also available.
Campus Facilities
UW-Sheboygan is growing! In 2004, we dedicated the new Frank G. & Frieda K. Brotz Science Building. This $4.3 million state-of-the-art facility houses six state-of-the-art science laboratories (for use in biology, chemistry, geography and physics courses), one multimedia 54-seat lecture hall for instruction and community use, six new science faculty offices and technologically integrated classrooms (including 400 computer jacks).
In spring 2006, we will break ground on the new 27,000-square-foot Acuity Technology Center, which will boast a new campus library and new computerized classrooms and meeting space. Construction should be completed by summer 2007.
Student Activities
UWS offers you opportunities larger campuses often do not. As a freshman or sophomore, you may be an editor of the campus newspaper or literary magazine, chair committees composed of faculty and students, serve as president of one of a variety of clubs, earn a starring role in a theater production, or be a starter on the basketball team.
If you'd like to get involved in campus decision making, you might run for student government or volunteer for faculty/student committees. If you are competitive by nature, try varsity basketball, volleyball, tennis, golf, or cross country. If you'd just like a friendly game, intramural might be your choice. You might even help organize a volleyball club or soccer team.
UWS activities will open new doors to you either as a spectator or a participant.

“The UW-Sheboygan campus is a small campus so it is easier to know your fellow students, as well as the professors. It is a short commute, so I am able to balance my roles of full-time student, wife, mother and homemaker. I really enjoy going to school here.” |
